Molokini & Coral Gardens

Boxing day dives aboard the Maui Diamond II.

I actually dove from the shore on each of the last 3 days, but conditions were not good so I was mainly playing around with my new Scubajet underwater scooter and did not get any pictures.

Friday I dove Ulua Beach just before the swell really murked up the water. Then I did Makena Landing on Saturday, just before the swell really murked up the water there. Then on Sunday, the only option was La Perouse Bay. IOW I kept getting pushed further south by the north swell. I was glad to do dive La Perouse as I had not done it in a long time, but visibility mostly was not good, except for a few protected pockets where it was clear and there was some reef to look at. La Perouse is a tricky entry though, as you have to walk over lava rock which is slippery when wet, and very uneven so it can be hard to get your footing.

Although Molokini was beautifully clear (as usual), I didn’t get any really good pictures, but I’m gonna post some anyway. Visibility was really poor at our second site, so I stuck with close up shots.

For the record, these pictures were taken with the SeaLife Micro 3.0 camera with the SeaDragon 2500F and the Sola 2000 S/F light. On the first dive I used the wide-angle dome lens (3″-inf.), and on the second I used the Super Macro lens (4″-6″).
