Clear water again at last!

Darklined Fireworm and Long-arm Shrimp

Wild card day on the Maui Diamond II. Site choices were limited due to swells, so went to Mala Ramp and Kim’s Cove. Turtles all 0ver the place at Mala, of course.

Not a great day: waves were up stirring up the bottom, making for murky and surgy conditions today. I did manage to find some relatively clear water once I got out to 40 foot depth, so it was a good dive, but not a lot of photo opportunities.

First time seeing a turtle at the St. Anthony since I started up diving again in 2022. And from what I heard, they had been absent from there for a few years prior as well. Was a time where there were always 4-10 turtles on the St. Anthony. Maybe that time will return?
